Dino Babers-Syracuse-Syracuse Orange-Syracuse football

Syracuse just earned the signature win of the Dino Babers era with a 27-24 victory over visiting No. 2 Clemson.

The Orange improve to 4-3 overall and 2-1 in ACC play.

Syracuse quarterback Eric Dungey had 278 yards and three touchdowns in the win, while Cole Murphy booted the go-ahead 30-yard field goal with 9:41 remaining in the fourth quarter.

Syracuse amassed 440 yards of offense while defensively limiting Clemson to a 2-of-11 conversion rate on third down.

According to the AP, this is Syracuse’s first victory vs. a defending national champion since knocking off Michigan in 1998.

However, after his team’s riveting victory Babers was highly complimentary of his opponent, whom he still believes will be in the CFP hunt.

That doesn’t mean Babers isn’t stoked about the upset though.

Check out the raucous celebration that ensued in the Syracuse locker room with Babers serving as the quintessential hype man.

What an epic postgame speech after a night that Syracuse fans will remember vividly for quite some time.
