West Virginia releases bowl game depth chart, Chris Chugunov listed as starting QB

West Virginia football released its depth chart on Sunday for the Zaxby’s Heart of Dallas Bowl on Dec. 26, according to 247Sports’ Chris Anderson.

Chris Chugunov was listed in the starting slot at quarterback. David Isreal was listed second — likely signaling that quarterback Will Grier will not play in the game.

Grier suffered a regular-season ending hand injury against Texas on Nov. 18 and later underwent surgery. Grier was uncertain if he would play in team’s bowl game.

West Virginia will also be without senior running back Justin Crawford. It was announced on Thursday that Crawford would skip the bowl game to focus on preparations for the 2018 NFL Draft.

The Mountaineers will face Utah in the Heart of Dallas Bowl. Utah won the lone previous meeting between the schools in 1964.
