West Virginia goes gold for Texas Tech game

This weekend’s matchup against the No. 24 Texas Tech Red Raiders is a big game for the West Virginia Mountaineers.

So they’re going back to their roots with their uniforms.

West Virginia will be sporting its traditional gold and blue when they take on the Red Raiders in Morgantown, W.Va.

The Mountaineers will wear gold jerseys, blue pants and blue helmets on Saturday.

The last time they broke out this combination, the Mountaineers scored 14 points in the fourth quarter to edge Kansas State 17-14 on October 1, 2016.

After falling out of the AP Top 25 last week, West Virginia can get some retribution against Texas Tech. The Mountaineers have won three straight games in the series, including a 48-17 win last season.
