Roy Williams, the fiery North Carolina coach who has won three national championships, is no strangers to the NCAA Tournament.

He’s been coaching the Tar Heels since 2003 and has missed the tournament just three times over his tenure.

So as he prepared waited on his team’s first-round matchup against No. 15 Lipscomb Friday afternoon, Williams’ tactics may have been a bit different than most coaches:

Williams may have been in a good mood before the game tipped off, but that quickly faded once it was underway, with the coach tearing into his players with some incredibly “Royisms” at the break.

The Tar Heels bounced back, and coasted to an 84-66 win over Lipscomb. With the win, North Carolina will match up against No. 7 Texas A&M on Sunday in the second round.
