WATCH: Oregon scores 2 defensive TDs in 30 seconds vs. Boise State in Las Vegas Bowl

It’s been a rough first half for Oregon in the Las Vegas Bowl, trailing 24-14 to Boise State at halftime. But somehow the Ducks have made three stellar defensive plays, including ones by linebacker Troy Dye and cornerback Tyree Robinson in the final minute of the first half.

The Ducks went from down 24-0 and looking headed for a blowout loss to trailing by 10 thanks to two plays in a 30-second span. First one was by Dye, who was in the right place at the right time when Boise State tried to run its famed Statue of Liberty play:

Boise State didn’t sit on the lead after that, though, throwing a 67-yard pass to get to Oregon’s 6-yard line with 23 seconds left. The Broncos ran a rub route to try and get a receiver open in the end zone, but they weren’t expecting Robinson to be in the way of the pass:

Those two big plays came after Oregon also saw cornerback Arrion Springs make a 1-handed interception in the end zone in the first quarter. All told, there have been 6 turnovers in this game with 3 resulting in defensive touchdowns. Oregon has given it away 4 times, 3 by quarterback Justin Herbert.
