There’s one important role of being the new Arkansas coach that Chad Morris knew he couldn’t mess up. So he practiced it the night before his introductory press conference with his wife.
He had to know how to call the Hogs properly.
During his appearance on The Paul Finebaum Show on Friday, Morris said that he practiced the “Woo Pig Sooie!” call in his living room with his wife the night before his introductory press conference with the Razorbacks.
“My wife, the night before, YouTubed it, and we had to practice in Dallas in our living room before we flew up the next day,” Morris said. “My son, Chandler, he was like, ‘Hey look, we can’t mess this up, we can’t get off on the wrong foot right off,’ and I said, ‘Absolutely, so let’s get it out, let’s practice right now.'”
Morris was introduced as Arkansas’ new coach on Dec. 6, just weeks after the Razorbacks fired previous coach Bret Bielema. Morris went 14-22 over the past three seasons as SMU’s head coach.
