Mark Richt and the Miami Hurricanes tried to get tricky to open the second half against Georgia Tech. It backfired in the worst way imaginable.
The Hurricanes opened up the second half with a surprise onside kick. But the ball only traveled 5 yards, meaning it was a dud. Then things got even worse, as a Georgia Tech player picked up the ball and returned it for a touchdown.

The Georgia Tech score turned it from a 14-13 lead for the Yellow Jackets to a 21-13 lead. When Miami did get the ball back, it failed to do anything with it.
While we applaud Mark Richt’s tactics, the execution was truly awful.
