WATCH: Former FSU star Jameis Winston launches foundation for Tampa Bay children

Jameis Winston is taking a big step in helping out children in need in the Tampa Bay area. The former Florida State star held a fundraiser called A Night to Achieve Dreams to commemorate the launch of his  Dream Forever Foundation.

Silent and live auctions were held to raise money for programs Winston has in store.

One of those programs is to create classrooms that he calls “Dream Rooms”, which will be replete with the newest technology in electronics, robotics, 3D printers and more.

“We’re just out here giving back and raising money for the financially disadvantaged youth,” Winston said. “…We want to empower these kids and help them to explore.”

Winston has other charitable events coming up in Tampa Bay.

According to Warchant.com, Winston is starting a annual toy drive named the “Jameis Jamboree” that will have live entertainment and will be featured along with food trucks at One Buc Place. Winston is also planning to have a Christmas feast for twelve financially disadvantaged families through the holidays.

Kudos to Winston for using his fame to make a difference in Tampa Bay.
