Charles Barkley had a great Super Bowl Sunday.
Recently, the former Auburn basketball star appeared on ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live and touched on a number of topics. Logically, the Philadelphia Eagles’ victory against the New England Patriots in Super Bowl 52 came up in the discussion, given Barkley’s former playing days in Philadelphia as a member of the 76ers from 1984-92. He also followed the Eagles’ run through the NFL playoff as an avid fan.
Barkley gave a shout-out to the Eagles and Philadelphia quarterback Nick Foles on Kimmel’s show. Then Kimmel asked Barkley if the former NBA star bet on the game. Barkley responded with, “I did. I had a great day.”
Of course, that comment piqued Kimmel’s interest. The host pressed Barkley by asking if the money won by Barkley was enough to buy a condo.
“In what city or state?” Barkley told Kimmel with a smile.
“In Alabama, it would have bought a big condo. In L.A.? A small guesthouse.”
You can see the full interview below. The exchange about the Super Bowl bet begins at the 1:07 mark.
It shouldn’t be surprising to learn that Barkley would be willing to place money on his Eagles in the Super Bowl. Given the drama involved with the game, he likely was sweating at multiple points throughout the night. But in the end, Philadelphia rewarded his trust by pulling off the 41-33 victory.
Enjoy the spoils of your victory, Barkley. And consider buying that condo soon.
