Virginia Tech got good news on the injury front as coach Justin Fuente updated the status of wide receiver Cam Phillips.
According to Fuente on his weekly radio show, Phillips has simply suffered a foot sprain and will be “fine” moving forward. Phillips had to leave the Hokies’ win over Boston College on Saturday due to injury.

The senior is on his way to a career season in his final year in Blacksburg. In six games, Phillips has recorded 42 catches for 608 yards and 5 touchdowns. He hauled in 5 touchdowns all of last season while making 76 catches for 983 yards, en route to being named second team All-ACC by Pro Football Focus.
Virginia Tech, currently at 5-1 on the season, is in the midst of a bye week. The No. 15 Hokies host North Carolina at Lane Stadium on October 21.
