Valentine’s Day poems for the Big 12

It’s Valentine’s Day, and we here at Big 12 DieHards are feeling festive.

Hunter Cooke and I took a look at the old “Roses are red, violets are blue” format, and set to work on developing poems for every Big 12 team.

Some of them are complimentary. Some of them are slight digs. We hope you enjoy all of them. And from our hearts to yours — have a Happy Valentine’s Day, everyone.

Baylor wears green/And went 1-11/That’s their worst record/Since 2007!

Iowa State

Roses are red/Cyclones are too/ Taco Bell costs less/Than dinner for two

Roses are red/The Jayhawks are blue/Never forget that/Texas lost to KU

Kansas State

Bill Snyder is good/Ron Prince was a mess/But then, at least/K-State beat Texas

Roses are red/The Titanic was a ship/On Baker Mayfield’s shoulder/Is one giant chip

His heart is fluttering/and his knees quake/Baker Mayfield/finally met Timberlake

Oklahoma State

They scored many points/and even led some/but Oklahoma State/still couldn’t win Bedlam

Roses are red/The Frogs’ defense is mean/Except against Mayfield/Who haunts GP’s dreams

Longhorns wear orange/Their defense, it attacks/Don’t think about it/Just say that they’re back

Texas Tech

The Raiders are red/Kliff Kingsbury’s cool/Tech recruited the worst/of all Power Five schools

West Virginia

West Virginia is yellow/and they’ve got Will Grier/hide the Red Bull/When Dana is near

For everyone:

Roses are red/Violets are blue/When realignment comes/Please take me with you
