USC forward Chimezie Metu deletes tweets to ‘angry fans’

USC forward Chimezie Metu hit delete after hitting send.

Metu took some heat from fans when he opted not to play in the NIT. Instead, Metu wants to turn his focus and prepare for the 2018 NBA Draft.

Trojans fans felt as though Metu bailed on his teammates before the season end. The forward responded by posting a few messages on social media that have since been deleted.

The Trojans narrowly defeated UNC-Asheville without Metu in their first game of the NIT. It took double overtime for USC to escape with a win.

Metu averaged 15.7 points and 7.4 rebounds for USC this year. The 6-foot-11 forward hasn’t made his plans official for next season but based on his actions he’s ready to insert his name in the NBA draft.
