USC cornerback Iman Marshall (knee) out for rest of game vs. Notre Dame

USC is down another defender.

Cornerback Iman Marshall injured his knee while in coverage in the first quarter and has been ruled out for the game, per the NBC television broadcast.

The Trojans turned to junior corner Isaiah Langley, who has recorded 5 tackles and 3 pass breakups in 7 games in 2017 and was immediately targeted by Notre Dame quarterback Brandon Wimbush. Notre Dame’s second passing touchdown of the night went right over the head of a flailing Langley, who was beaten by Kevin Stepherson for a touchdown.

Prior to this season, the bulk of Langley’s experience came via special teams and in backup duty at cornerback. He’ll be thrust into a crucial spot for the Trojans, who were down 7-0 when Marshall went down with the injury and fell behind 14-0 on the scoring pass over Langley.
