USC assistant Johnny Nansen named Pac-12 Recruiter of the Year

USC Trojans linebacker coach Johnny Nansen has been named the Pac-12 Recruiter of the Year by 247 Sports. USC finished the recruiting season with the No. 4 ranked class in the country, per 247 Sports. The Trojans signed 18 players, including four 5-star recruits and 13 4-star recruits.

Nansen, who is also USC’s assistant head coach and recruiting coordinator, helped the Trojans land 8 prospects and was the primary recruiter for 7 of the signees. He played a key role in helping land 5-star LB Palaie Gaoteote, 4-star LB Solomon Tuliaupupu and 4-star ATH Talanoa Hufanga.

Nansen played college football at Washington State before launching into his coaching career. He has previously coached at Idaho, Troy and most notably Washington. Nansen spent five years with the Huskies (2009-13), serving in a variety of roles, including as special team coordinator and recruiting coordinator.
