UNC 2018 power forward target Darius Days commits to LSU

A major target for North Carolina’s front court is headed to the SEC.

Darius Days, a 6’7″, 218-pound power forward from Gainesville (Fla.) Rock School, committed to Will Wade and LSU on Friday evening. The senior announced the news on his Twitter account.

According to 247Sports’ composite rankings, Days was considered the class of 2018’s 65th-ranked recruit overall and the 17th ranked power forward in the country. He was also considered the state of Florida’s eighth-ranked player overall. Among his offers aside from North Carolina were Butler, Florida State, Louisville, Kansas, Oklahoma, Ohio State, Pitt, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest and Xavier.

Days had placed the Tar Heels in his final five along with LSU, Louisville, Ohio State and Xavier. Hovever, he only took three official visits: to Louisville on September 15 and North Carolina on October 6, followed by LSU on October 13.

North Carolina’s commitment count remains at three for the 2018 recruiting cycle. Five-star recruit Nassir Little, rated the No. 9 player in the country by 247Sports’ rankings, tops the list.
