UCLA lands commitment from 4-star wing Jules Bernard

UCLA’s 2018 recruiting class just doubled in size, and prominence, with Tuesday’s commitment of wing Jules Bernard.

Rated by Scout.com as the No. 52 player in the country and the ninth-best shooting guard in his class, Bernard picked the Bruins over Kansas, Miami (Florida), Oregon and USC. The commitment comes shortly after Bernard made an official visit to UCLA last weekend.

“I chose to commit to UCLA because I think it’s a perfect fit for me,” Bernard told Scout’s Evan Daniels. “I think the coaching staff is one that I’ve created a great relationship with. They’ve put so much time and effort into recruiting me and believing in my game.”

The 6’6”, 190-pound Bernard plays for Windward School in Los Angeles, making him the second commit for UCLA for 2018 and second from the LA area. The other is 4-star shooting guard David Singleton, who is rated No. 60 overall.

UCLA’s 2018 class currently ranks 25th nationally and fifth in the Pac-12, according to Scout.
