UCLA guard Aaron Holiday: We turned the ball over too much

UCLA was invited to the big dance but were asked to leave early by St. Bonaventure. The cause? Turnovers. UCLA point guard Aaron Holiday provided his thoughts after being eliminated.

“I felt like we matched them pretty well,” Holiday said, per ESPN, via the Associated Press. “We just turned the ball over too much.”

It’s not hard to diagnose that turnovers led to UCLA’s demise. The Bruins coughed up the basketball 20 times in the loss. Holiday had half of UCLA’s 20 turnovers, including three in the final 29 seconds as the team’s season withered away.

St. Bonaventure will now move on to Florida while UCLA returns home to Los Angeles.

Holiday was UCLA’s most indispensable player all season long. The first-team All-Pac-12 member led the conference in scoring and as he went so did UCLA. On Tuesday, Holiday started hot, hitting his first three shots. But he cooled late and consequently so did UCLA.
