Florida State appeared to be ready to celebrate a nice comeback victory against Louisville. And then they weren’t.
With under three minutes to go, the Seminoles were driving into field-goal range. Actually, they had a first-and-10 at the 21-yard line with 2:05 remaining. But then Florida State quarterback James Blackman made a very costly mistake, fumbling the ball and giving it back to Louisville.
And as Heisman Trophy winners usually do, Cardinals quarterback Lamar Jackson made him pay. Louisville drove down to kick the game-winning field with under 10 seconds to go and save its season.
For Florida State, though, it’s another heart-breaking defeat in a season full of them. And the Seminoles Twitterverse was not pleased about it:
James Blackman had been playing really well. But this fumble is less than ideal … pic.twitter.com/49EWnioZSw
