Twitter reaction to Arizona coach Sean Miller’s wiretap fiasco

Things are going from bad to worse for the Arizona Wildcats basketball program.

It was revealed on Friday night that head coach Sean Miller was overheard on intercepted wiretap phone conversations with agent Christian Dawkins discussing paying $100,000 to secure star freshman DeAndre Ayton would sign with the Wildcats, as first reported by ESPN’s Mark Schlabach.

According to Schlabach, the FBI, as part of its ongoing fraud and bribery probe into college basketball, the conversations were part of 3,000 hours of phone conversations obtained from Dawkins’ phone. Dawkins is one of the key figures involved in the Bureau’s investigation.

Needless to say, it’s been a horrible week for the program and this damning news adds further  evidence that Arizona was involved in schematic payments to players and agents. This revelation comes just two days after Allonzo Trier, the team’s leading scorer, was ruled ineligible for a failed test for performance enhancing drugs.
