There might not be a more influential player in recent TCU history than Trevone Boykin, and the former Horned Frogs quarterback is spreading his influence to the athletic director search.
Since Chris Del Conte announced he was leaving to take the Texas AD job, speculation has swirled that former Arkansas AD Jeff Long might be perfect for Fort Worth. Reporter Brett McMurphy tweeted out his opinion on Long:
With Chris Del Conte headed to Texas, TCU would be insane not to hire @jefflongRNR as Horned Frogs’ AD

Boykin, now with the Seattle Seahawks, promptly issued his opinion on the matter:
Plz don’t https://t.co/fXBFiGSR8p

Maybe Boykin is still mad at Long for being the spokesperson for the College Football Playoff Committee when TCU dropped from No. 3 to No. 6 in the last week of the 2014 season? Or maybe Boykin has a different candidate in mind.
Either way, if one of the top-10 players in Horned Frogs history is against an AD candidate, TCU might want to listen.
