Yahoo Sports dropped a bombshell of a report Friday morning, implicating several ACC programs in the FBI indictment into men’s college basketball. Among them was former North Carolina Tar Heels center Tony Bradley.
But just a few hours after the report came to light, Bradley’s father, Tony Bradley Sr., responded to the Yahoo Sports report.
In the Yahoo Sports report, Bradley was listed as one of 10 players to meet with former ASM Sports agent Christian Dawkins, who was arrested in September for crimes including bribery and fraud.
Tony Bradley Sr. said Friday that his son never met with Dawkins or anyone from the ASM agency. He did say he had lunch with members of the agency without his son after Bradley had declared for the NBA Draft, but the meeting wasn’t like it was described in the Yahoo Sports report.
“They didn’t take us to a fancy restaurant,” Bradley Sr. said according to Inside Carolina. “We went to the office and ordered pizzas. We ate pizzas while they introduced everyone that worked for [Miller]. It wasn’t dinner or anything like that,”
“We never took any money.”
Bradley didn’t start a single game at North Carolina, but he declared for the NBA draft after he played 38 games as a freshman on the national championship team last season. He averaged 7.1 points and 5.1 rebounds in 14.6 minutes per game.
