Texas Tech is Sweet 16 bound, and the celebration is on

Texas Tech Fans-Texas Tech Basketball-Celebration-Sweet 16

For the first time since 2005, Texas Tech men’s basketball is headed for the Sweet Sixteen after defeating Florida, 69-66, in round two of the NCAA Tournament.

The Red Raiders were forced to hold onto dear life as the Gators had multiple chances to tie the game at 69-all in the closing seconds of the contest. But when the clock hit 00:00, it was Chris Beard’s squad advancing, much to the pleasure of the pro Texas Tech crowd at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas.

And that was just another night of March Madness, one that included an electric put-back dunk from Zhaire Smith in the second half that is worth another watch.

Now, the celebration is on for Texas Tech fans as their team advances the furthest into the Big Dance in more than a decade. And while we aren’t sure how the night will look entirely for the Red Raider faithful, there’s a pretty good chance Whataburger and tortillas will be involved at some point.

Regardless, this St. Patrick’s Day is extra special, because Texas Tech — fittingly enough — is shipping up to Boston for the next round.
