Home court has certainly been advantageous to the Texas Tech Red Raiders as of late.
In fact, although Texas Tech isn’t exactly considered a typical college basketball powerhouse, the Red Raiders are currently enjoying one of the most notable home-court advantages in the entire nation. For 17 straight games, Texas Tech has successfully defended its home-court at United Supermarkets arena, marking a streak that currently ranks fourth nationally and headlines every Power 5 conference.

Throughout their 17-game home winning streak, the Red Raiders have botched ranked wins over No 22 Nevada, No. 18 Baylor, No. 2 West Virginia and most recently, No. 23 Oklahoma on Tuesday night. Such efforts have led the way for what’s now a No. 7-ranked Texas Tech squad, which, in addition to its 17-game home winning streak, has won seven straight overall.
To find the last time Texas Tech lost a home game, one would have to reminisce on nearly an entire year ago when Iowa State knocked off the Red Raiders on Feb. 20, 2017.
As Texas Tech aims to continue its impressive home stand, only No. 13 Kansas and TCU stand in its way. The Red Raiders will host the Jayhawks on Saturday, Feb. 24, and the Horned Frogs on Saturday, March 3 for the regular season finale.
