Tennessee WR trash tweets South Carolina CB Rashad Fenton

South Carolina football-Rashad Fenton

On Thursday morning, Tennessee wide receiver Tyler Byrd took a Twitter shot at South Carolina cornerback Rashad Fenton.

It was a bold move for a guy who’s caught 2 passes for 21 yards and a touchdown in four games this season.

Earlier this week, the South Carolina football team’s Twitter account posted a video about ‘Fenton Island.’

Byrd, who’s not listed among the projected contributors in the Tennessee’s pre-game media release, did catch 15 passes for 209 yards as a freshman in 2016.

None of South Carolina’s first six opponents in 2017 have scored a touchdown on Fenton.

Could we see a Tennessee wide receiver break through reach pay dirt against Fenton on Saturday in Neyland Stadium? Perhaps.

But the Vols sports information office seems to believe that Marquez Callaway, Brandon Johnson, Josh Palmer and Josh Smith have a better chance than Byrd.

South Carolina and Tennessee are set to meet on Saturday at noon. The game will be televised by ESPN.
