WMNL’s Josh Ward had Ed Feng from ThePowerRank.com on Rocky Talk to discuss why he believes Tennessee can be a tough out in the tournament.

“This team really excels on defense,” Feng said. “I look at adjusted efficiency. So, looking at points per possession in a game and the Vols are fifth in the nation. They are a super strong defensive team.”

Tennessee has the fourth-best adjusted defense rating in the country, according to Kenpom.

Offense doesn’t always click in the postseason, but defense can be more consistent. If the Vols can bring the same defensive intensity into each game, they will be a tough team to beat.

John Gasaway of ESPN.com also joins the podcast to discuss the development of the team under coach Rick Barnes. Ward also discusses the news of former running back coach Robert Gillespie going to North Carolina.
