Tennessee OL Jack Jones no longer to play football because of neck issues

Butch Jones said that Tennessee guard Jack Jones no longer will play football because of lingering neck issues.

On Monday, the Volunteers coach spoke about the development during his news conference, as relayed by SEC Country’s Blake Morgan. Earlier this month, it was reported that Jack Jones underwent surgery to repair torn thumb ligaments.

Jack Jones, a junior, started at left guard in a season-opening victory against Georgia Tech. He played in nine games with six starts last year. He’s a 6-foot-4, 312-pound athlete from Murfreesboro, Tenn. He also played in nine games with one start as a freshman in 2015.
