KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Tennessee AD Phillip Fulmer and new coach Jeremy Pruitt apparently have a lot in common, and one of those things is their indifference to high expectations.
The Vols suffered through a 4-win campaign last season that grew worse at each turn.
Fans were disappointed on social media, and a couple of former players lashed out at the staff, damaging recruiting efforts and players’ confidence in their coaches.
Tennessee figures to have another challenging campaign ahead in 2018, but Pruitt has boldly announced his intention to win every game, and Fulmer is doing nothing to curb the high expectations.
Many former players now seem to be back behind the program, largely because of Fulmer’s involvement as athletic director.
Speaking on ’The Nation’ show on Sunday night on the Vol Network, Fulmer indicated Tennessee’s not that far off from being a championship program, and he’s ready to start a new, more competitive chapter in the Alabama rivalry.
WNML’s Josh Ward and SEC Country’s Mike Griffith discuss the high expectations that have returned to Rocky Top with a new head coach and athletic director in place.
