KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Tennessee is coming off a 45-7 loss to Alabama.
The Vols opened up an underdog against Kentucky this week.
Coach Butch Jones addressed the media about where the team is and preparation for the game against the Wildcats.
Below, we’ve got a roundup of news and notes from his press conference.
- Opening statement: When you look at the game on Saturday and we were down 7 with about 5 minutes until halftime. We had some catastrophic penalties. Impressed with the play of cornerback Shawn Shamburger. Tennessee is not okay with being 3-4. Butch Jones is not okay with being 3-4. Offensive guard Jack Jones will no longer play football due to lingering neck issues.
- On offensive issues: We are all disappointed in our performance. We see small increments of improvement. Unfortunately, it has not shown up on gameday.
- On changing offensive coordinator: I evaluate everything, including myself. But, no. We’ve seen some improvement, but not on gameday yet.
- On Quinten Dormady health: We are making sure he is okay. We expect him to practice tomorrow.
