DALLAS — Tennessee basketball is a 6-point favorite over Missouri Valley Conference champ Loyola Chicago in the NCAA Tournament Round of 32.
The No. 3-seed Vols (26-8) played like the SEC co-champs they are in the first round, pounding No. 14-seed Wright State 73-47 on Thursday.
Tennessee’s path for a first-ever Final Four appearance appears to be clearing, with No. 6-seed Miami getting upset by the No. 11-seeded Ramblers on Thursday afternoon.
The Vols road will go through Atlanta in the South Regional should they get past Loyola Chicago in the 6:10 p.m. game on Saturday in American Airlines Center.
