TCU men’s basketball improves to 10-0 with win over No. 22 Nevada in Los Angeles

TCU basketball improved to 10-0 in the predawn hours of Saturday after recording an 84-80 win over No. 22 Nevada at Staples Center in Los Angeles, Calif.

The win extended the Horned Frogs’ longest winning streak in the nation to 15 games, dating back to the NIT in March. The game was the first ranked vs. ranked matchup TCU partook in since 1998.

TCU has now tallied wins at two of the most prominent NBA venues — Staples Center and Madison Square Garden — in the calendar year.

The late-night/early morning contest on the West Coast was part of the Basketball Hall of Fame Classic. Oklahoma, USC, St. John’s and Arizona State also participated in the triple-header. TCU-Nevada was the final game to tip-off in downtown Los Angeles.

The Horned Frogs will return to action against Texas Southern on Dec. 18. Tip-off is set for 8 p.m. CT at the Schollmaier Arena in Fort Worth, Texas.
