TCU defensive end Mat Boesen has been named a third-team All-American by the Associated Press.
Boesen earned the honor after a breakout senior season. He racked up 11 1/2 sacks and 14 1/2 tackles for loss this season, and he also forced three fumbles. His biggest performance of the year came against Baylor on Nov. 24, where he was credited with a school-record 5 1/2 sacks.

Boesen is TCU’s only representative on the AP All-America team.
It’s the third All-America honor for the senior defensive lineman. He also earned All-America honors from Sports Illustrated and SB Nation. He’s the only Frog to earn multiple All-American honors so far. He was also a first-team All-Big 12 selection by the coaches and the AP.
