TCU’s Kenny Hill, Darius Anderson added to Maxwell Award watch list

Kenny Hill-TCU-TCU Horned Frogs

TCU is among the top teams in the nation. The Horned Frogs wouldn’t have reached this point if they didn’t also have some of the country’s best players.

TCU quarterback Kenny Hill and running back Darius Anderson were added to the watch list for the Maxwell Award, given annually to the top collegiate football player.

Hill’s 69.0 completion percentage is third in the Big 12 and 11th in the FBS but would set a single-season program record. He’s also 22nd in the FBS in passer rating, narrowly behind reigning Heisman Trophy winner Lamar Jackson. In Saturday’s victory against West Virginia, Hill had a passing touchdown, rushing touchdown and receiving touchdown in one game, becoming only the second Big 12 player to do so.

Anderson is fourth in the conference with 465 rushing yards. He got 160 of those in TCU’s road victory against then-No. 6 Oklahoma State, rushing for three scores as well.

Additionally, TCU defensive end Ben Banogu was added to the Bednarik Award watch list. The Bednarik Award recognizes college football’s most outstanding defensive player. Banogu leads the Horned Frogs with 7 tackles for loss (tied for fifth in the Big 12) and 4 sacks (second in the Big 12).
