TCU football to honor LaDainian Tomlinson during homecoming weekend

TCU-LaDainian Tomlinson-Homecoming

TCU football will honor its latest Pro Football Hall of Fame inductee during the school’s homecoming weekend later this month.

According to a Twitter post from TCU Athletics, TCU football great LaDainian Tomlinson will be recognized as part of the school’s homecoming activities on Saturday, Oct. 21. The Horned Frogs are scheduled to host Kansas for team’s annual homecoming game that day.

Tomlinson played as a running back at TCU from 1997-2000 before enjoying a 10-year NFL career with the San Diego Chargers and New York Jets. He recorded back-to-back 20 rushing touchdown seasons during his final two years in Fort Worth.

Tomlinson was named a consensus first-team All-American as a senior in 2000, in addition to winning both the Doak Walker Award and Jim Brown Trophy. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2014 for his endeavors.

Kickoff time has yet to be announced for the TCU-Kansas game.

For now, L.T. fans will want to mark their calendars for the special day at Amon G. Carter Stadium.
