Syracuse DL Kendall Coleman and Josh Black ruled out for Miami

Malik Rosier-Miami-AP Top 25

Miami quarterback Malik Rosier will have two less defensive players to worry about putting pressure on him in the pocket or near the line of scrimmage on Saturday, as Syracuse defensive linemen Kendall Coleman and Josh Black have both been ruled out for this weekend’s game. In fact, neither player were apart of the school’s traveling party to Florida.

Both sophomores have seen little to no action over the last five games. Coleman has been dealing with a nagging foot injury that was sustained against LSU on September 23, and Black has been battling a knee injury suffered in the same game.

Syracuse.com writer Stephen Bailey reported that sophomore Alton Robinson and redshirt sophomore Brandon Berry are expected to continue to start in their place along the Orange’s defensive front. Robinson has been outstanding in their absence, he recorded a season-high 5 solo tackles and 1 sack in Syaracuse’s upset win over Clemson last Friday.

The Hurricanes host the Orange on October 21, with kickoff scheduled to 3;30 p.m. ET on ESPN.
