4-star defensive tackle prospect names Baylor, Texas, and Oklahoma in top schools

Bobby Brown from Arlington Lamar (Tx.), a 4-star defensive tackle, has named Baylor, Texas and Oklahoma in his top eight schools.

Brown is predicted to go to Alabama. Also making the list is LSU, Florida State, Texas A&M, and Houston.

He plays defensive end in a 3-4 scheme, but projects to a 3-technique defensive tackle in a 4-3 system.

It’s widely rumored that Oklahoma is the only Big 12 school in close competition for him, but there’s still a chance a school like Baylor or Texas could sneak in there. The Sooners already have multiple defensive linemen in this recruiting cycle, but Texas only has one defensive line commit, and Baylor only has two.

After Oklahoma, the next Big 12 school Brown would go to is likely Texas, according to his 247 profile.

Brown can function well in a 4-3 defense, but is a clear fit for a 3-4, which will factor into his decision. The way Alabama uses their defensive ends is more set for his body type than the other teams on his list, so it’s not a surprise that the Crimson Tide are in the lead for him when you factor in the national championship runs they’ve been on. If Brown goes to a Big 12 school, it’ll likely be Oklahoma or Texas.
