Stanford junior RB and Heisman Trophy candidate Bryce Love is day-to-day this week due to an ankle injury suffered in Stanford’s win over Oregon on Oct. 14, according to SF Gate.

Stanford head coach David Shaw told reporters on Monday that Love doesn’t need to practice in order to play on Thursday against Oregon State.

Love is having a Heisman worthy season for the No. 20 Cardinal (5-2, 4-1). On the year, he leads the nation in rushing yards with 1,387 yards and has scored 11 TDs.

Stanford and Oregon State will meet at Reser Stadium in Corvallis, Ore. on Thursday night. The game is scheduled to kick off at 6 p.m. PT on ESPN.

The game should provide a national platform for Love and the Cardinal. Love is thought to be one of the top three candidates for the Heisman Trophy, along with Penn State’s Saquon Barkley and Oklahoma’s Baker Mayfield.
