Jacob Sirmon is one of the jewels of Washington’s 2018 recruiting class and is thought to be the heir apparent to Jake Browning at quarterback.
The 6-foot-4, 226-pound Sirmon is a native of Bothell, Wash., and has been committed to the Huskies since December 2015. He is expected to sign with the Huskies on Wednesday and enroll early.
Here is all you need to know about one of Washington’s two QB commit in the Class of 2018:
4-star QB Jacob Sirmon
247Sports composite ranking: No. 4 pro-style quarterback, No. 1 prospect in Washington, No. 81 overall
Hometown: Bothell, Wash.
Weight: 226 pounds
Offers: 7, including Michigan, Alabama, Louisville, LSU, Nebraska and Washington State
Commitment: December 13, 2015
Senior season stats: Sirmon threw for 2,061 yards and 18 TDs in eight games during his senior season, while only throwing 5 interceptions. He also ran for 4 TDs.
Where he fits at Washington: Washington QB Jake Browning is expected to return for his senior season, meaning Sirmon likely won’t play right away. However, he should compete for the starting job going into the 2019 season and could serve as the backup to Browning in 2018.
