In four years, Dameon Pierce solidified himself as one of the top prep running backs the state of Georgia has ever seen.
The tough-nosed tailback amassed 6,779 yards during his tenure at Bainbridge High, a mark that ranks ninth in Georgia history.
Now, the 4-star prospect is ready to take his rare combination of physicality and electrifying speed to the college level to see if he can make a name for himself in the SEC.
Here’s all you need to know about the powerhouse running back in the 2018 class:
4-star running back Dameon Pierce
247Sports composite ranking: No. 10 running back nationally and No. 199 overall and No. 24 prospect in Georgia
Hometown: Bainbridge, Ga.
Weight: 205 pounds
Offers: 17, including Alabama, Auburn and Florida State
Commitment: Aug. 6, 2017
Early enrollee: Yes
Senior stats: 2,123 rushing yards, 32 touchdowns
Where he fits at Florida: Dan Mullen’s spread offense is fueled by an effective run game. With Malik Davis’ status for the season opener uncertain after suffering a season-ending knee injury late in 2017 against Georgia, Pierce has the potential to earn a lot of reps early in his collegiate career. That notion gets magnified by the fact that he will be enrolling early, giving him the spring to learn Mullen’s offense and find ways to rise up on the depth chart and compete for touches with Lamical Perine and Adarius Lemons.
