Connor Noland became Arkansas’ first commitment of the 2018 class way back in July 2016. Now, 17 months later, the 4-star quarterback made it official by signing with the Hogs on Wednesday, the first day of the early signing period.
Even through the recent coaching change from Bret Bielema to Chad Morris, Noland wasn’t going anywhere but Arkansas. Attending high school for the past four years in nearby Greenwood, Ark., he’s grown to love all things Razorbacks.

Here are some other things to know about Noland as he prepares to sign with the Razorbacks:
Connor Noland finishes as an Arkansas state champion
Noland capped his impressive senior season at Greenwood with a state championship earlier this month. He threw for 304 yards and 4 touchdowns in a 52-14 victory in Arkansas’ Class 6A title game. He completed 20 of his 27 pass attempts in the game.
In 13 games as a senior, he passed for 2,798 passing yards and 34 touchdowns with just 6 interceptions. His completion percentage was 69.6 for the season, and he added 5 rushing scores, as well.
Connor Noland, the two-sport star
Noland is equally as impressive on the baseball diamond as he is on the football field. When he committed in 2016, he actually pledged to the Hogs in both sports. The right-handed pitcher still plans to enter college with intention on trying his hand at balancing both sports.
It’s also very likely he’ll be selected in the 2018 MLB Draft. But barring the opportunity to sign for a very significant amount of money, Noland still plans to join the Razorbacks as a quarterback and pitcher.
Connor Noland, the recruiter
Since committing to the Razorbacks, Noland has been a very active recruiter for Arkansas’ 2018 class and beyond. He’s built relationships with most of the Hogs’ pledges over that time and done his best to sway many others. The effort and time he’s put into trying to help this signing class improve far exceeds that of a typical recruit.
