In what could prove to be the best recruiting class ever at Notre Dame, the Fighting Irish have begun the process of signing several key defensive prospects as of Wednesday morning. But they are also signing a few offensive players that could be important contributors in years to come.
That includes 4-star tight end George Takacs.
This young man knows what ND stands for and wants to be part of the special tradition of ND Football.

How George Takacs fits at Notre Dame
Notre Dame has always had a big tight end under Brian Kelly – Tyler Eifert and Kyle Rudolph are the first ones that come to mind – and the Irish appear to have found their next one.
Standing at 6-foot-7, Takacs is taller than either Eifert or Rudolph. He figures to be a big target in the passing game, but he has shown the ability to also block in the running attack.
Notre Dame finished the regular season ranked seventh with 279.1 rushing yards per game this year, but the Irish rushing attack tailed off in November. The Fighting Irish didn’t reach even the 170-yard mark on the ground in any of the final three games. They also scored just one rushing touchdown in those games.
Adding a big, versatile tight end should help Notre Dame ensure its rushing attack will continue to excel and perhaps even improve down the stretch of the seasons to come.
