Report: West Virginia secures commitment from JUCO DB

The West Virginia Mountaineers have secured the services of Josh Norwood, a JUCO DB, according to multiple reports.

Norwood chose Ohio State out of high school, but after two years with the Buckeyes elected to transfer. He will have two seasons of eligibility with the Mountaineers.

Norwood is West Virginia’s 18th commit in the 2018 class.

He will become a part of West Virginia’s tradition of great defensive backs. Daryl Worley, Karl Joseph, Rasul Douglas, and Kyzir White are all examples of fantastic DBs to come out of the Mountaineers’ system. Their defense has been known for solid secondary play in recent years.

Norwood will be welcome to a team that has a lot of senior talent graduating in the secondary. The Mountaineers have been forced to utilize a lot of young talent in the defensive backfield this year, so having a veteran like Norwood who has played on the big stage is going to be a definite upgrade.
