Toledo running backs coach Marquel Blackwell is reportedly headed to West Virginia.
Blackwell, who’s spent two seasons with Toledo, will join coach Dana Holgorsen’s staff in the same role, according to Brett McMurphy.

The Mountaineers lost running backs coach Tony Dews, who left for a job with the Tennessee Titans, earlier this month. Blackwell, who played quarterback at South Florida, would be his replacement if the hire is made official.
Blackwell’s familiarity with the state of Florida could pay dividends for West Virginia recruiting. He’s also only 38 years old and has jumped from FBS assistant roles at South Florida to Western Kentucky to Florida to Toledo.
His role as West Virginia’s running backs coach would the biggest position he’s held in his coaching career at the collegiate level.
