Report: Texas A&M DT Zaycoven Henderson suspended after arrest

Texas A&M Zaycoven Henderson reportedly has been suspended from team activities after he was arrested on aggravated assault charges.

As reported by ESPN’s Sam Khan Jr., a team spokesman relayed word that Henderson is suspended indefinitely from team activities after the player was arrested early Sunday morning in College Station, Texas, on three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, tampering with evidence and possession of marijuana. KBTX-TV in Bryan, Texas, published the original report.

Henderson, a senior, closed the regular season with 35 tackles, 5 tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks. He started 11 games for Texas A&M this season. The Aggies play Wake Forest in the Belk Bowl on Dec. 29.

Texas A&M enters the game with a 7-5 record. Jimbo Fisher is the Aggies’ new coach after he replaced Kevin Sumlin, who was fired at the end of the regular season.
