Report: TCU analyst Sonny Dykes to be next SMU coach

TCU analyst Sonny Dykes’ time with the Horned Frogs has seemingly come to an end.

Dykes has agreed to become the next coach at SMU, according to multiple reports. Dykes spent one season with TCU after he was fired from Cal in January.

Earlier Monday, Dykes was heavily rumored to be the top candidate to take over as the Mustangs’ coach. Former SMU coach Chad Morris recently took the Arkansas job.

Dykes posted a 41-45 record as coach at Louisiana Tech and Cal.

TCU and SMU play annually in the Battle for the Iron Skillet. Their next matchup is Sept. 8, 2018, at SMU.
