South Carolina has reportedly added a pair of games against non-conference opponents to its future schedules.
According to Kevin Kelley of FBSchedules.com, the Gamecocks have added future home matchups against Troy and Georgia State. They will host Troy on Sept. 25, 2021, and they will host Georgia State on Sept. 3, 2022.
South Carolina has won all three of its previous matchups against Troy. The last time the two schools met in 2010, the Gamecocks won, 69-24, at home.
South Carolina’s 2021 schedule now features non-conference games against Troy, Clemson and East Carolina.
The matchup between South Carolina and Georgia State will be the first game between the two schools.
The Gamecocks’ 2022 schedule now features non-conference games against Georgia State, Charlotte, Wofford and Clemson, which tentatively completes their schedule for that season.
FBSchedules.com obtained game contracts for both matchups from South Carolina via a state Freedom of Information Act request.
Troy will reportedly receive $1.4 million for playing South Carolina, while Georgia State will receive $1.45 million.
