Report: Penn State DC Brent Pry not headed to Louisiana-Lafayette as Billy Napier is offered the job

According to reports, Penn State defensive coordinator Brent Pry is staying put for now, as it’s been said that Louisiana-Lafayette has offered Arizona State offensive coordinator Billy Napier its head coaching job on Thursday night.

Chris Karpman of 247Sports first had the story.

Pry was rumored as the favorite for the job earlier on Thursday and has been tied to the job for about a week. He had served on the Ragin’ Cajuns’ staff as an assistant from 2002-2006.

He has been with James Franklin since they were at Vanderbilt in 2011 and has been the Nittany Lions’ defensive coordinator for the past two seasons.

The Lions have already lost offensive coordinator Joe Morehead to the head coaching job at Mississippi State and he took running backs coach/special teams coordinator Charles Huff with him.
