Pry was rumored as the favorite for the job earlier on Thursday and has been tied to the job for about a week. He had served on the Ragin’ Cajuns’ staff as an assistant from 2002-2006.
He has been with James Franklin since they were at Vanderbilt in 2011 and has been the Nittany Lions’ defensive coordinator for the past two seasons.
The Lions have already lost offensive coordinator Joe Morehead to the head coaching job at Mississippi State and he took running backs coach/special teams coordinator Charles Huff with him.
