The move comes in anticipation of the Raiders signing former Kansas State wide receiver Jordy Nelson.
Crabtree needs no introduction to the Texas Tech faithful. The architect of the most famous play in school history, Crabtree was drafted by the San Francisco 49ers with the No. 10 overall pick in the 2009 NFL Draft.
After the 2014 season, Crabtree elected to test the waters in free agency, and signed with the Oakland Raiders, where he has spent the past three years. In his NFL career, he’s caught 579 passes for 6,870 yards and 51 touchdowns.
Where he ends up is still a mystery, but there should be a market for his services.
