The Miami Hurricanes announced Friday morning that cornerback Dee Delaney would sit out the showdown against Georgia Tech in Week 7 because of a lower-body injury. But on College GameDay on Saturday morning, ESPN reported Delaney will be out much longer.
ESPN reports Delaney will miss 6-8 weeks because of an undisclosed injury. That time frame would probably knock the cornerback out for the rest of the regular season.
However, Matt Porter of The Palm Beach Post simply reported Delaney is “week-to-week”.

Clearly, the Hurricanes are keeping a pretty tight lid on the details of Delaney’s ailment. There aren’t even any official reports of what type of injury he’s dealing with at the moment.
But he is a significant loss as long as he remains out. Delaney is Miami’s only senior defensive back, and the Hurricanes might have to turn to freshman Trajan Bandy in his absence.
