Report: LSU adding Leon Wright as defensive analyst

LSU reportedly is adding a defensive analyst to its staff.

On Monday, Football Scoop’s Doug Samuels reported that the Tigers will add Leon Wright as a defensive analyst to the staff. Most recently, Wright worked as a wide receivers coach at Garden City (Kan.) Community College.

However, Wright has LSU ties. Per his bio at Garden City Community College, Wright worked as a defensive graduate assistant for the Tigers before his arrival at the southwest Kansas junior college. He also served as a defensive backfield assistant at Princeton before his stint in Kansas. He began his coaching career by working as a defensive quality control coach at Duke for two seasons.

During his playing days, Wright was a cornerback at Duke, where he earned all-ACC honors during his final season there. He earned a free agent contract with the New York Giants in 2010.
