Report: Former Alabama QB Vince Sutton dies after previous health issues

Former Alabama quarterback Vince Sutton died on Thursday morning, according to the LaGrange Daily News and 247sports.

Sutton played for the Crimson Tide from 1984-88, passing for 1,102 yards and 10 touchdowns over his four seasons. Prior to current Alabama quarterback Jalen Hurts, Sutton was the last true freshman to start at quarterback for the Tide.

According to 247sports, Sutton had dealt with a number of health issues in recent years. He had kidney disease and suffered two strokes, which then led to partial blindness.

Before playing at Alabama, Sutton played for LaGrange High School in LaGrange, Ga.
